Memberships
Which membership is right for me?
Diamond Membership: Serious, competitive players who want to play 4+ times per week. Plan on booking weekly private courts.
Flex Membership: Players who are playing 2–3 times per week. That prefer joining programming and only book courts occasionally.
Non Members or Guests: Perfect for occasional players (once a week or less)
What happens when my membership expires?
You’ll receive renewal options in advance, with priority for current members.
Can I cancel my membership?
Monthly memberships can be cancelled at the end of the payment period.
Yearly memberships cannot be cancelled early. However, injury related pauses may be considered with medical documentation.
I don't have a membership, can I still play?
Yes, we welcome Guests! You may book courts and join open play or join our clinics. Ladders and tournaments you may be waitlisted.
Can I bring guests?
Yes, members can bring guests but guest rates apply. Guests must check in and sign a waiver before playing.
Equipment
I'm new to Pickleball and don't have a paddle, can I rent one?
Yes, we have paddles available to rent for a small fee.
Are balls included?
Balls are provided for leagues and lessons. Court bookings and Open Play please bring your own.
Do you have a ball machine?
Not at this time but in the near future!
What type of pickleball do I need?
Looking to buy some balls of your own? Even though our courts are indoors, they are made with outdoor court surfaces. Paddle Club 74 sells Franklin X-40 outdoor balls. 3 for $12.00
What equipment do I need to bring?
Indoor court shoes such as tennis shoes, running shoes, or other athletic footwear. (non marking)
Please make sure your shoes are free from the debris of Kawartha's outdoors like salt, snow, mud, and whatever else the weather throws at us.
Paddle rentals are available and come with pickleballs.
Court Bookings
How does payment work for private courts?
Booking player pays to secure the court and add teammates. If there are members they will be charged accordingly through Court Reserve. If they are guests, booking member pays and guest signs waiver upon arrival.
Is check-in mandatory?
Yes. All players must check in at reception.
Miscellaneous
Do you host Pickleball Tournaments?
Yes! We occasionally host Paddle Club 74 tournaments throughout the year.
What are the "Drilling" Clinics about?
Drilling in pickleball is practicing and perfecting specific shots (dinking, backhand, serve, spin shots, transition zone shots, third shot drops etc.) through repetition.
You can drill with a partner or you can also solo drill. Options for solo-drilling include: using a pickleball machine, doing pickleball wall drills, or self-serving shots etc.
Can I bring outside food into the Club?
Yes, you can bring food and drinks (no glass). Food is not permitted on the court, only drinks in a well-sealed non-glass container are allowed on the courts.
Are there Staff on site?
Staff are available in-person from
9:00am -9:00pm.
What if there is an emergency?
Paddle Club 74 is a self-entry facility that is only staffed 9:00am - 9:00pm. People are able to book courts and use at their own risk. We encourage people to know their limitations and to consult a doctor before engaging in physical activity. We have a phone for emergencies and do not permit individuals to utilize the facility after hours alone, unless through consultation and prior approval. We have a first aid station and AED available. The facility has video surveillance.
